What is a CSA?
CSA stands for “community supported agriculture.” Cited as originating in Japan in the ‘70s, the subscription based model has a long history in small scale farms. The idea is that community members buy a share in the farm at the beginning of the season.
The CSA model has changed shape, and each farm does things a little differently. Our CSA model will look like the more traditional model-- you pay up front, and we provide you with weekly hauls of organically grown vegetables.
What should I expect in a box?
We will fill each box with a strong diversity of vegetables based on what's in season. We prioritize items that are abundant, new for the week, and tasty. As much as possible, we will try not to repeat items in back-to-back weeks. That being said, certain types of vegetables are very abundant in certain seasons, so expect a lot of greens in spring, a lot of tomatoes and peppers in summer, etc. While we will accommodate food allergies by replacing problematic veggies with extras of another one, our CSA is best for customers who like diversity and surprise and enjoy a wide range of vegetables.
In short, we're farmers who love vegetables, so every week you'll be getting a box full of the veggies that we'd pick for ourselves to eat!
How big are the weekly boxes?
We offer three sizes.
How long does the season run?
We are offering two different options for our CSA -- seasonally or annually.
Our seasons are broken down as such, exact dates will differ based on which day of the week you pick up: (small/medium/large prices)
